Technology of the future, intended for the support of wireless short-distance communication. It is supposed to enable communication at the speed of about 500Mbit/sec and communicate within the range of 3.1 to 10.6GHz with minimum energy requirements. Simply, this technology should replace almost all cables used in short-distance connections in computing technologies and electronics. UWB should provide fast wireless USB, IEEE1394 and probably fast UWB Bluetooth, as well. PCs will be able to communicate with peripheries without wires. Electronic devices will not need any cables, e.g. between player, TV and data projector.
